Conquer 4 Presents: Matt Wagy vs. JT Donaldson

The paper trail following JT ‘Grandma’s Boy’ Donaldson (2-2) and Matt Wagy (8-4) details contrastive fortunes, but Conquer Fighting Championships contracted these featherweights for Conquer 4—June 24, 2017—to create their own luck, locking them in a cast-iron structure with each attempting to snap the other like a wishbone.

Screen Shot 2017-05-10 at 4.40.31 PMAs tragically as the Tale of the Tape reads over the past fourteen months for Donaldson, nothing can submit the positive spirits of this Bay Area native. ‘Grandma’s Boy’ has fond memories of having his hand raised in the heart of the Craneway Pavilion at Conquer 2, when he defeated Drey Mitchell by scoring a unanimous decision. After suffering various injuries, fight cancellations, and every other pull of the short straw, the product of Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu and Team Black is prepared to snap his layoff by coupling a pair of wins together, which would be the first time in his pro career, at Conquer 4.

Team Alpha Male’s Wagy, on his current winning streak, has hit five-of-a-kind. Four of those victories demonstrated the dynamite inScreen Shot 2017-05-10 at 4.39.39 PM his hands with first-round knockouts, and his last outing, on November 5, 2016, showcased a heart and jawline of steely mettle when he collided with Ty Costa in a Fight of the Night performance at West Coast Fighting Championships 18. Willing to travel to the end of the rainbow to capture his dream as an elite mixed martial artist, Wagy looks to pull his heavy right hand like a lever and hit another jackpot while in the enemy’s backyard.

In reality, Donaldson and Wagy will manufacture their own destiny when Conquer 4’s cage clicks shut, but the MMA fans who, either within Northern California’s borders or around the world logged in to FloCombat.com, don’t witness this show firsthand will feel the accumulation of walking under a ladder, having a cat cross your path, and breaking a mirror—all in one.
